The Ms. Magazine newsroom was abuzz today upon hearing that local basketball fan and male feminist Colin Riley attended a WNBA Seattle Storm game last night in his favorite Sonics jersey.

“I mean, wow: I’m sure I speak for all women when I say what a touching move it was for this humble ally to attend a home game of consistently the best team in the WNBA in the jersey of a men’s basketball team that hasn’t existed for nearly a decade and a half,” said Ms. Magazine Editor Emeritus Gloria Steinem. “I can’t imagine anything more supportive and respectful of a women’s team that’s won four WNBA Championships than openly advertising at one of their home games which team you’d rather be watching right now. We’re absolutely looking at a major contender for male feminist of the year.”

Seattle Storm fans eagerly welcomed and cheered Riley as he approached his seat.

“He was absolutely adorable. You should have seen how proud he was of himself for ‘discovering’ Sue Bird! And only a month after she announced her upcoming retirement from a career in which she is still the all-time WNBA leader in assists, games played, minutes played and Allstar appearances,” said Seattle Storm fan Emily Garrett. “I like to think of Seattle Storm games as the only safe place outside of soccer for fans of local sports to see what playoffs look like.”

At press time, Riley had reportedly clinched male feminist of the year when he not only learned another Seattle Storm’s player name, but honored her with being the “Gary Payton of the team.”
