Today local fantasy world enthusiast, 31-year-old Greg, announced he’ll be cosplaying at this weekend’s Emerald City Comic Con as someone who can afford student loan payments.

“Last year I dressed up as someone whose parents didn’t get divorced,” said Greg while in line to see a statue of Chris Evans. “Honestly, my motto is ‘fake it ‘till you make it.’”

Greg will be far from the only one cosplaying as that exact fantasy character, according to Seattle Convention Center Director Marshall Foster.

“Every year we welcome people from all across the country to meet their comic-book heroes, and live out their wildest fantasies,” said Foster as he watched Comic Con workers put the finishing touches on the Retirement Land Lounge and Avocado Toast Tavern. “We just never realized that disposable income was such a big fantasy to so many of our attendees.”

Greg will be accompanied at this weekend’s festivities by his friend Dave, who’s cosplaying as “someone who can afford a home,” and his real-life homeowner friend Genine, who will be cosplaying as “Batman” because she’s basically already Bruce Wayne.
