Tired of needing an umbrella everyone makes fun of him for using to stay dry during real downpours, today one clever Seattle man applied Rain-X directly to his now entirely water-repellant body.
“Before you ask—yes, I tried showering in Nikwax’s Wash-in Waterproofer first, but I found I just needed something stronger,” said Bryan “Rain-X Man” Wheeler before shaking off beads of rainwater like a duck. “See? Runs right off. Who needs to buy and remember to take expensive Gore-Tex jackets everywhere when you’ve got silicone polymered skin? If it’s good enough for my Mustang, it’s good enough for me.”
To apply, Wheeler said he just doused himself with it in the shower one night, rubbed it in really well with a microfiber cloth in firm, circular and overlapping motions from top to bottom, then let it dry properly before testing it out in the rain the next day.
“Worked like a charm and I only have to re-apply it every 2-3 months,” Wheeler said. “Can you believe some people out there still use umbrellas or buy $200 rain jackets? Losers!”
When asked if he really applies the Rain-X everywhere, Wheeler confessed that for more sensitive areas he does instead apply Nikwax’s Down There Wash.
