This weekend Enumclaw cowboy bar Ol’ Whips and Chains Watering Hole said it’s countering Seattle’s PrideFest celebration with its first and far more wholesome HorseFest.

“Pony up and stand for traditional Enumclaw values!” said a flyer for the three-day celebration. “Get a selfie with a strapping Clydesdale in our beer garden while enjoying local bands NEIGHbor Next Door, Salt ‘n Leatha, and local YMCA cover band Horsin Around. Inside the bar, there will be a super straight shirtless mechanical bull riding contest for the fellas, no girls allowed. There will however be a carabiner crafting workshop for the ladies and a petting zoo TO PROTECT OUR KIDS [sic] INNOCENCE hosted by Holy Epiphany Catholic Church across the street.”

HorseFest has already lined up numerous local sponsors, including Glitter Galore and More Crafts, Ride The Claw Agrotourism Bureau, and Stallworth Proctologists.

“I’m excited to bring such a climax of horse-loving to our Plateau,” said Mayor Jan Molinaro. “After all, our deep, deep love for horses is what really puts us on the map.”

Enumclaw Police will be staffing the event, with an opportunity to be entered in a drawing for “A Roll in the Hay and a Handcuffing,” the winner of which will be crowned “Mr. Hands.”
