As Ballard excitedly waits to hear if Sound Transit might build their light rail station as soon as 2092, the dense, walkable Seattle neighborhood magnanimously congratulated Jackson Park Golf Course on its new light rail station opening in Pinehurst Wednesday morning.
“While we, West Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett have to wait a decade or more for new station openings due to Sound Transit’s tight budget, it’s honestly heartwarming to see a golf course get their light rail station a full five years ahead of schedule,” said Seattle City Councilmember Dan Strauss as his right eye involuntarily twitched. “We are so happy Jackson Park Golf Course users and people living in the five single-family homes next to the new Pinehurst Light Rail Station don’t have to wait as long for light rail as our community of 40,000 people.”
Seattle golfers said they were all too excited about the new light rail station, perfectly located right in between the 160-acre golf course and Interstate 5.
“I can walk straight from the station to the club now!” said golfer Alistair Kensington. “Of course I’m never going to. Can you imagine? But it’s only fair and equitable that if areas serving poors get light rail stations we get one too, even if we never use it.”
Asked if they would also be congratulating the golf course on becoming a $240 million public transit hub, West Seattle confirmed they won’t be telling them or Pinehurst Station champion Councilmember Debora Juarez anything but to get fucked.
