As is tradition in their annual pilgrammage to celebrate puffing their favorite strain of bud, today bumble bees at the Sequim Lavender Festival by all accounts got completely baked.
“Hey, do you guys ever wonder if there are more colors than just blue, green, yellow and ultraviolet?” asked one bumble bee swaying on a lavender bud before taking another hit of pollen. “Like, what if roses aren’t actually gray? This lavender and its essential sources of protein, fats and carbohydrates really make you think.”
Below, a bee resting on a lavender leaf was too high on pollen and drunk on nectar to move.
“I’m so lavendered out I can’t even lift a wing,” said the bee. “Guys, are you sure that was a lavender angustiva, not angustica?”
At press time, a group of bumble bees called the Grateful Lavender Bud were reportedy on their fourth straight hour of unintelligible buzzing.
