This holiday season, skip Zoolights and head to SeaTac’s airport road, where drivers are dazzling onlookers in a festive display of hazard lights, abrupt turns, and bold violations of local ordinances.
“It’s like watching a synchronized dance choreographed by chaos,” said Sharon Kepler, a Tukwila local who decided to visit after hearing all the buzz. “My best friend said I had to add this road to my Christmas light viewing itinerary—it’s both awe-inspiring and makes you question your relationship with authority. And honestly? It delivered, especially when two drivers fought over who got to illegally parallel park under the same sign.”
Despite the chaos, the scene has become so popular that many visitors seem completely unaware of—or indifferent to—the conveniently located cell phone lot just a minute away.
“I thought ‘cell phone lot’ was some kind of tech recycling center,” said Mike Dawson, who was parked directly beside the ‘No Parking’ sign while furiously texting his sister, “WHAT GATE ARE YOU AT?” despite being told moments earlier she needed to take the shuttle to baggage claim. “I don’t need a special lot to text, okay? My unlimited data plan works just fine from here, the only part of the airport we’re told to not park and wait at under any circumstance.”
City officials have now installed a temporary “No Standing to Watch the No Parking Signs” sign, which has reportedly only drawn even more people to the must-see holiday attraction of the year.
