One local woman spending a relaxing week camping out in the middle of nature at Cape Disappointment State Park reflected today on how amazing it is to just get away from it all as her phone fully charged in a campground bathroom.

“It’s so magical leaving the city and getting back in touch with nature,” the woman said, checking the battery level on her phone away from what was probably a puddle of piss. “I always download a bunch of my favorite shows before leaving so we can watch videos all night in the tent. Sometimes we bring a generator to power a TV to watch the Seahawks game and can fall asleep to the hum of that. It doesn’t get better than sleeping under the stars.”

Her boyfriend shared that their very favorite part of getting away from it all is driving into town for coffee every morning.

“There’s an amazing coffee shop in town—we’d be there right now if it was open this late,” said the boyfriend, who was waiting for his own phone to charge in the men’s bathroom. “That’s a big part of why we love camping here so much. And they have wifi! We can catch up on all our emails and social media, and sometimes even do a little work. It feels so good to get away from it all. It’s just us and the trees out here.”

At press time, the couple said they planned on spending their last few days out in nature hiking around to find enough reception to check the likes on their most recent camping post.
