Determined to be prepared for the long journey ahead, today Ballard resident Claudia Davis spent the evening carefully planning for her big road trip this weekend all the way to Beacon Hill.

“Don’t get me wrong – I love an adventure, especially when I get to see some of my friends on it,” said Claudia as she wiped some nervous sweat from her brow while packing. “I’m just always worried I’m going to forget something if I don’t create a detailed pack list and check it at least three times the night before I head out. I’ve also printed out all of the directions there in case I lose cell reception – I don’t remember if they have service all the way out there.”

Claudia says she’s an especially careful packer whenever she leaves Ballard after that one time she drove all the way to Capitol Hill without planning her trip several days in advance.

“I really thought that one was going to be an easy daytrip that didn’t require that much planning, but I couldn’t have been more wrong—took three days alone to find parking,” Claudia said shaking her head. “That’s definitely a destination you want to fly or take train to, and right now all they have is rail, so yeah, lot of planning involved. Worth it! But I really only have the time and energy for one big road trip a year and this year it’s Beacon Hill—here we come!”

At press time, Davis was staying up late at night completely re-organizing her trip plans after realizing she should probably just learn from past mistakes and take the light-rail train instead to Beacon Hill too.
