One local family fled for their lives this weekend after a ghost haunting their Airbnb scrawled a bloody list of household chores they were expected to complete before checkout.

“We paid the outrageous cleaning fee upfront, but this ghost still had the audacity to demand we clean the furnace, reupholster the couch, and dig up the cursed witch that was burned in the town square 400 years ago, then return the remains it to its rightful resting place under the dead willow tree in the backyard,” said Brian Jackson, leaving a strongly worded review. “I can deal with the unholy wailing coming from the basement at all hours of the night, because that’s pretty normal for Airbnbs these days. You must be out of your mind though if you expect me to clean up the goat corpse pentagram that was already here before we checked in.”

Despite the scathing review, the owner of the Airbnb reportedly not only refused to issue a refund, but also charged them for an extra guest after their ghostly visitor refused to leave.

“The Airbnb listing very explicitly states that there’s a $150 fee for extra guests, be they human or supernatural,” said Airbnb superhost Lucius Blackthorne, responding to the review. “I can’t be held responsible for every ethereal entity that decides to haunt my visitors, and that $600 cleaning fee is there to cover any blood splatters our guests are careless enough to leave behind. I suggest next time they stay with us, they should opt for our deluxe package that includes the services of our local Exorcist.”

Blackthorne later stated that their no-pet policy would also be enforced against anyone that turned into a werewolf on the property after suffering a wolf attack while walking the grounds.
