Local iced lavender lattes became suddenly irrelevant overnight as local seafood chain, Ivar’s, announced their seasonal iced clam chowder drinks are now available just in time for the first day of summer.

“It’s chuggable iced clam chowder season, baby!” said one of the iced beverage’s aficionados waiting in a long line on Pier 54 for a 16 oz. “I usually get it plain, but I think I might actually go for two pumps of their house-made bacon slurry with extra whipped chowder and crumbled saltines on top just to get this season started off right.”

The popular local seafood restaurant is also offering dairy-free options with alternate white sauce bases for their iced chowders including aioli and tartar.

“Our iced chowders are just as customizable as any coffee drink you can find in town,” said Ivar’s Director Harry Roberts. “They’re also completely caffeine-free, making them healthier if you don’t think at all about the 1,000+ calories of fat in each drink.”

At press time, Pike Place Chowder was reportedly panicking and close to announcing that a Manhattan chowder cold brew is in the works.
