After more than a week of canceled flights in and out of Seattle, officials confirmed that as of today the only person smiling at Sea-Tac International Airport is the Alaska Airlines logo taxiing up and down runways without a care in the world.
“There was a moment where we thought we saw another guy in a three-hour-long security line lightly grinning at the thought of finally getting away from his mother-in-law, but then I think he suddenly remembered he’s definitely still coming back here every other year for Christmas,” said Port of Seattle spokesman Stanley Welsh. “So, at the moment, yes things are still a bit backed up and the only person here who seems to be having a good time is the image of one painted on the back of an airplane.”
Officials say they couldn’t even find people smiling while eating at popular airport restaurants Rel’Lish, Dish D’Lish and 56Pikup’Fish.
“Even after confirming a flight and getting through security, many people’s faces remain too puzzled by businesses names inside the airport alone,” Welsh said. “Especially the Capitol Hill Food Hall – for some reason people always put their masks on tighter and run whenever they walk past it.”
Asked what keeps him smiling no matter what, the Alaska Airlines logo said “knowing I never have to fly Delta.”
