Macklemore fans hoping to pick up a deal on $80 golfing polo shirts from the just-opened Capitol Hill retail shop for his Bogey Boys clothing line are apparently in luck today as most of them appear to already be selling in a thrift shop down the road.
“I went to the new pop-up Bogey Boys shop expecting to pop some tags, but I only had $20 in my pocket and that weird pickle print sweater costs like $130,” said local bargain-hunter Crosby Harlow. “Fortunately, I already found a steeply-discounted bunch of them at the thrift shop down the road. Like Macklemore says, one man’s trash is another man’s come up.”
When Goodwill shoppers were asked why they wouldn’t buy Macklemore’s clothing line new off the rack, they agreed it just wasn’t worth it.
“Let’s do some simple addition: $80 for a T-shirt, that’s just some ignorant bitch shit – I call that getting swindled and pimped shit,” said shopper Arnold Williams. “I call that getting tricked by a business.”
Needling reporters later found Macklemore digging through racks of clothes in the thrift shop, piling Bogey Boys clothesinto his arms on the way to the register. When asked why he was repurchasing all of his own clothing from the thrift shop next door, the Seattle-based rapper reportedly responded, “Shit, it was 99 cents.”
