Upon venturing the ominous depths of Highway 99 South for the first time in years, Ballard resident Chris Brock found himself surprised and bewildered to discover that the West Seattle Bridge is closed today.
“That’s gotta suck for anyone who lives over there,” said Brock, trying with every ounce of his being to put himself in someone else’s shoes. “I don’t even know of another way to get to West Seattle, so I assume they’ll reopen it first thing tomorrow? That would be crazy if all those people were just trapped over there lol.”
Brock then incredibly continued to think about something other than the majesty of the National Nordic Museum for entire minute more.
“I have no idea what goes on in West Seattle, but I’m pretty sure a lot of folks live there,” Brock said, valiantly attempting to care about anything happening outside of Ballard. “But now that I think about it, everyone who lives in West Seattle probably works there too, right? So they might not even notice that the bridge is closed today.”
Once south of the West Seattle exit, Brock immediately forgot about the bridge so he could mentally prepare himself to enter what he thinks is Tacoma, but is actually just Industrial SoDo.
