Here at The Needling we strive to uphold our credibility as a real fake news organization that only reports real fake news. Unfortunately sometimes we accidentally end up reporting real real news, sometimes even scooping all the other real real news outlets out there. That is never our intention and we hope to never do it again in 2021.

We regret the following accuracies:

Worn-Out Rick Steves Recommends Indefinite Staycation in Edmonds, Published Jan. 17, 2020 – At the time of our reporting, this story was completely and utterly real fake news never intended to predict that this is exactly what Rick Steves would really be doing this year. We apologize to Rick Steves for this offensive level of accuracy displayed in this headline and article.

Ghost of Christmas Future On Floor Gently Rocking Self Back and Forth After Visiting Jeff Bezos, Published Dec. 18, 2019 – Although this story is technically from 2019, its accuracy in describing the unimaginable hellscape that would become 2020 was chilling, and we deeply regret being that spot-on about what the future held.

Single Xmas-Light Tumbleweed Rolls Down Abandoned Leavenworth Main Street, Published Jan. 15, 2020 – Our travel reporter on this story was merely supposed to be reporting on the Bavarian Village’s post-holiday slump and ended up accidentally describing what most of the year would look like for the tourism dependent town. The ghost town feel lasted longer than expected, but bounced back a little later this year as business and travelers found safe ways to light Leavenworth up again. We hope this kind of real fake tourism business story is never this accurate again.
