As the coronavirus continues to spread and citizens everywhere take preventive measures to stop the transmission of germs, Seahawks General Manager John Schneider finally asked veteran Head Coach Pete Carroll to do his part by closing his gum-smacking mouth.
“Listen, we’re all in this together,” said Schneider. “It’s wide open how this is spreading, so we just asked that Pete’s mouth not be doing the same.”
Schneider admitted that despite the coach’s normal positivity, he was concerned about how the request would be received.
“Listen, Pete is old-school. He’s committed to defense, the run, and the wet, open-mouth chewing of Bubble Yum,” Schneider said.
“But, he’s also just old,” Schneider added. “And that means he’s at a higher risk than most. We’d like to see him get plenty more years out of his life and his contract.”
Fortunately, Schneider said Carroll received the direction well.
“Oh, I’d do anything for this team, the 12’s, and society at large,” Carroll said. “Anyone can get this thing. Why not us?”
