A Thanksgiving visit back to her parents’ home in Spokane turned tragic for Seattle woman and lifelong Democrat Leah Perkins, 31, when she spontaneously combusted into flames shortly after a non-pasture-raised turkey was served.
“One moment we were talking about how great it was that we were only going to be paying $30 car tabs next year, and next thing you know, she was just incinerated – never seen anything quite like it,” said family friend Harry Turner. “We still have no idea what set her off. Maybe she really was gluten-intolerant.”
According to her mother, Pam Perkins, the afternoon leading up to dinner had been lovely.
“We’d taken a break from watching Fox News in the living room to take a nice, sunny tour of the front yard’s new landscaping complete with new Trump/Pence 2020 and Tim Eyman for Governor lawn signs,” said her mother. “At least the firefighters were able to douse the flames before they got to the yard.”
Several other household treasures did not survive, however, including three vintage NRA posters, a series of prints depicting a white, blue-eyed Jesus of Nazareth, and a framed Trump University “Gold Elite” diploma valued at $35,000.
