The grassroots Save the Showbox campaign was dealt a major blow today as it was discovered that paperwork had accidentally been misfiled in support of another Seattle landmark, the Lusty Lady.

The historic peep show venue has now been granted historic landmark status and subsequently revived instead of the Showbox due to the campaign’s typos.

“While we’re happy we were able to save another one of Seattle’s historic landmarks, we were crushed to find out that we had made such a costly mistake,” said Phil Delano, organizer for the Save the Showbox campaign. “We were so sure we had crossed our tits and dotted our thighs. I mean, crossed our T’s and dotted our I’s. I’m so embarrassed I made such a grave areola—damn it—I mean, error.”

Across town, loyal former employees of the Lusty Lady were thrilled they could return to bare Moore on stage and bring traffic to a standstill with their Tacoma Domes.

“From the bottom of our bosoms, we just want to say spank you, Seattle,” said Cherry Go-Go Leroux, organizer of the almost decade-old Save Our Box Show campaign. “We hope The Showbox can also be shaved, but if not, everyone is always welcome to come check out your favorite rack-and-rolls shows at the Lusty Lady. Get your ooh’s and ah’s ready for Pubic Hairosmith, Breast Grab for Cutie and, of course, Mumford and Buns.”

The Lusty Lady also announced that their grand re-opening ceremony would be MC’d by local music hero, Muff McKagan.
