This weekend a local father and son bonded before the thundering and majestic waters of Niagara Falls, located just 45 minutes east of Seattle.

“We didn’t load up on Fig Newton carbs during our long and arduous road trip here for nothing,” said Jim Miller, 42, to his son Todd Miller, 4, as they approached the falls. “Take a gander: This here is the storied Niagara Falls that the Cherokee so graciously gave us so many years ago.”

Jim swept his son up in his arms above the observation deck fencing and took in the falls’ wild mist until his arms gave out 10 seconds later.

“Alright, that’s enough – always leave while there’s something left to enjoy for next time,” Jim said.

At press time, both were fantasizing about what they’ll eat on next month’s trip to Italy, located all the way at an Olive Garden in Federal Way.
