Legendary poo-bagging dog walker Beck Alexey confirmed today that National Geographic will be documenting his highly anticipated record-setting dog-walking attempt this weekend in Seattle’s Discovery Park.
Alexey, owner of Pawsitively Pampered Dog Walks, is determined to break Australian Maria Harman’s current record of walking 36 dogs simultaneously in 2018.
“I’ve been prepping for this day since the first time I asked myself, ‘Whoa, what if I could walk more than one dog at a time?’” said Alexey. “Before you know it, it’s two, it’s three, and onward into the unknown to test the limits of your body — nay, of mankind itself.”
But Alexey admits you can never predict or control every variable.
“Honestly, no matter how experienced or prepared you are, all it takes is one squirrel and you’re done … fucking Kevin once took out one of my best dog walking partners,” Alexey said. “Before you know it, 37 dogs are mushing and dragging you into the waters of a King County sewage treatment plant.”
Tentatively titled Into Deep Shit, the Nat-Geo doc’s director Sammy Chan says this is a unique project he’s proud to take on despite its inherent risk.
“You can’t let the comfortable shoes fool you: Dog walkers are a competitive bunch,” said Chan. “Whether they’re doing it for the money or the glory, this group will always push the boundaries of what’s possible — and we’re going there when Alexey’s pupper frens do him a heckin’ Guinness World Record.”
At press time, rumors were flying that two follow-up docs are already in the works: One will reportedly follow Alexey’s attempts to settle the score on a hotly contested chewed-tennis ball distance throwing competition and the other will document him attempting another record for number of doodles stuffed in a 2002 Subaru Outback.
