Today a brave adventurer became the first Capitol Hill resident in history to ever visit a friend in another neighborhood.
“We’ve been preparing Joey for this day for years, and I’m so proud that after a decade of being friends he somehow found the strength, courage and whatever online Mountaineer classes he needed to safely venture all the way out to Fremont,” said Joey’s long-time friend Molly. “You know, a lot of people compare Seattle’s Capitol Hill to The Village in New York City, but in many ways it’s also like The Village in an M. Night Shymalan movie in that—until a historic day like today—literally no one had ever left it. So proud of my little Bryce Dallas Howard!”
The historic event also marks the first time in history Molly did not have to trek to Capitol Hill to hang out with Joey.
“Look, I get it—he doesn’t have a car, so it’s a huge hassle for him to come all the way to me on a 20-minute bus ride,” Molly said. “It’s actually pretty much an equal hassle for me to visit him because there’s no parking on Capitol Hill and I have to take the same bus ride to see him as well. But I’m just so much more well-traveled than him so it’s easier. Check out all these stamps on my Seattle passport—I’ve even been out to West Seattle. What can I say? I actually love traveling.”
At dinner, Molly and Joey reportedly agreed he should take home Fremont’s Center of the Universe sign to Capitol Hill where it really belongs.
