Today a local trans woman is celebrating working at a company so affirming of her gender that her first paycheck since coming out as a woman shows they’ve already dropped her pay by an impressive 18%.
“Not only was my boss supportive of me coming out–it was almost like my boss wanted me to come out,” said Rachael Norton. “In fact, I probably wouldn’t have even come out if it weren’t for the unwavering support I received from the executives at our company. We even had a whole trans women visibility day pizza party earlier this year and everything. They truly seem to love trans women.”
Unfortunately for the trans men in the office, they seem to receive less support from the company.
“Simply put, trans men are bad for business. I can’t just be giving out 18% raises to any random employee,” said CEO John Everholt. “Trans women, however, should feel welcomed and supported as they begin their transition into their true identity. It really is a beautiful thing seeing a trans woman so comfortable in her own skin. We welcome them into our corporate family with open arms and can’t wait to question their loyalty and gratitude to this family should they ever have the audacity to ask for a raise.”
A testimony to this company’s beliefs can be found outside their office building where 50% of a trans flag flies up on their flag pole.
