Once a nervous newcomer, today a local 2004 LSAT study guide is celebrating three entire years of residency at one Crown Hill Little Free Library.
“Honestly, when I first moved into this neighborhood’s Little Free Library, I was afraid someone would immediately make fire kindling or a Pinterest papier mâché out of me,” said the vintage study guide cozily stuffed into its favorite moldy corner. “But look at me now! Three years in, I’ve really become part of this neighborhood, and I hope for many more years of people kindly shoving me aside to get to Captain Underpants.”
The LSAT book breaks the previous longest tenancy record for the Little Free Library, formerly held by a copy of Lance Armstrong’s 2001 inspirational memoir It’s Not About the Bike.
“I’m really proud to have crossed this personal and historic milestone,” the study guide said. “I’ve met so many interesting books during my time, and even the odd magazines and VHS tape. I had a good run with a few anti-racism books that people bought in 2020 but dumped in 2021, and that brand new copy of the Book of Mormon that a guy in a white shirt and black tie dropped off and then kept coming back to check on.”
Meanwhile, the record for shortest stint in the little library is currently a copy of the romance novel Hot Duke Annihilates Corset, which was picked up “as a joke” four minutes after it was deposited.
