In a stunningly rare display of local optimism, one excited Seattle resident is wondering who is having a “cozy little campfire” tonight.

“Oh my gosh, I LOVE campfires—do you think it’s one of those cute little backyard pits or one of those fun little bonfires at Golden Gardens?” said Stacey Barns, the only person in Seattle too positive to not be counting down the days, hours and minutes until rain returns later this week. “I would have said it smells like a neighbor getting their fireplace going, but something about it just smells kinda outdoorsy, you know? I’ll bet they’re only burning local wood like responsible stewards of our local environment!”

Rare as it is for any Seattle residents to be that optimistic and blissfully ignorant, Barns’ family and friends says her upbeat assumptions about what’s going on around her aren’t rare at all.

“Yeah, um, lovely girl: The other day she squealed when we walked by a tiny house village because she thought they were cute and she wanted one some day,” said her mother Donna Barns with a sigh. “Sweet little thing still thinks light rail is coming to Ballard someday, too.”

Although she never quite figured out who was having a campfire nearby, Stacey reportedly ended the day with an Instagram post about today’s colorful sunrise and sunset being sure proof that God loves us all.
