Today Seattle Mayor-Elect Bruce Harrell announced another set senior appointments for his administration after a successful City of Seattle Job Fair at his annual holiday family reunion at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.
“I’m happy to announce weeks before I’m even inaugurated on Jan.1, I’ve not only already appointed my niece Deputy Mayor: I’m naming my nephew head of SDOT, son head of City Light, brother Hearing Examiner and wife my Chief Dashboard Czar,” said Harrell in a press release today. “Winner of our family reunion’s annual holiday bobbing-for-apples competition, my sister, will be the city’s new budget director.”
Together, Harrell said his new administration gleaned almost completely from his most recent family gathering will chart a new day of progress for the City of Seattle.
“No longer will shameless nepotism be a thing just for Republicans like Donald Trump – it’s for Democrats who would be Republicans if Republicans weren’t so overtly racist too,” Harrell said. “I trust the winner of our family’s annual scavenger hunt, my brother in-law, will find a way to make Bumbershoot and other city arts events worth going to again. Water-balloon toss tag-team, my youngest sister’s twin step-children Ron and Todd, will do an amazing job running Parks and Recreation even though they’re only 11.”
Harrell said his last few administrative appointments will be decided on Christmas when he determines which family members gave him the best presents.
