Although a thrilling week of games ended in elimination from the MLB playoffs Sunday, a sold-out T-Mobile Park crowd of fans didn’t go home empty-handed as they grabbed 2021 Commemorative Mariners Blue Balls on their way out of the stadium.
“Wow, the Mariners have been toying with my feelings for a while now, but they really had me feeling like we’d go all the way to the playoffs for the first time in two decades—getting turned down this time really hurts,” said fan Hardy Johnson doubling over in pain at Edgar and Dave. “It’s fine though, I’ll walk it off – thanks at least for the blue balls!”
Several other fans were seen walking awkwardly out of the stadium with their commemorative blue balls as well.
“It feels like the end of the world right now, but I know as soon as I go home and rub one playoff season out of my calendar I’ll be fine and back to normal,” said Mariners fan Peter Strokes. “No matter what, this season–especially this week–was the most fun I’ve had in a while and I’m glad I have these blue balls to remember it by.”
At press time, thousands of Mariners fans were taking a laptop into a dark room alone to presumably watch old highlights of Ken Griffey Jr. pounding out one home run after another.
