After a sports radio program reportedly leaked the long-awaited name of Seattle’s new hockey team today, National Hockey League officials are neither confirming nor denying that the Key Arena-bound team’s name is the Seattle Not-the-SuperSonics.
“When the time is right, we will let you know what the real name of the team is,” said the new Seattle hockey team’s owner Steve Not-Howard-Schultz. “As of right now, it’s just as likely the name could still be the Totems, Sockeyes or the Macklemores.”
NHL officials declined to comment on leaked photos of the team logo on green and yellow uniforms and the franchise’s rumored mascot, Not-Squatch.
In addition to news of the team’s name finally being released, rumors are also flying that the team stands a good chance of drafting and acquiring all-star players Not-Shawn-Kemp, Not-Gary-Payton, and Not-Anything-Close-to-Kobe-Bryant.
