A Special Report to The Needling from our Off Leash News correspondents at the University of Washington
In Off Leash News’ exclusive sit-down interview today with Dodge Sullivan, president of the University of Washington College Republicans, the young leader shared the inspiration behind the launch of their new “Caucasian Liberation” campaign centered around reclamation of “the W-word.”
Sullivan confessed he has been called derogatory names such as “white boy” and “whatever the hell a cis white bro” is when simply expressing opinions about the superiority of the Caucasian race.
“It just came to me one morning while I was staring into the sweet, sweet eyes of the framed Rudy Giuliani portrait on my nightstand,” said Sullivan. “For years now — maybe not centuries, but definitely a few years — white people have been harassed simply based on the color of their skin while attacking people with different color skin. It’s enough. Time’s up.”
UW’s College Republicans believe reclaiming the W-word will assist in ending the deeply entrenched discrimination Caucasians struggle with in the midst of institutional policies such as affirmative action. Sullivan admitted that change won’t be easy.
“The shackles of whiteness are strong, but when we finally claim the word as our own, something to shout from the rooftops, my struggle — our struggle — will all be worth it,” he said.
Nearing the end of an emotional interview, Sullivan grabbed the interviewer’s hand and looked him dead in the eyes.
“I am doing this for every white high schooler sitting in his Bellevue home, hiding his love for capitalism and hatred for the poor, simply because his views don’t align with the snowflakes that control the system,” Sullivan said with a single tear rolling down his cheek. “One day, the system will be yours too, lil buddy.”
Sullivan said anyone can get involved by following him and Twitter hashtag #MYWHITEISRIGHT.
