After stocking up her new Newcastle duplex with West Elm finishings for the living room and patio, Jennifer Rawley says she can’t wait for her Seattle friends to come over sometime on the weekend.

“We mostly hang out at Hailey’s place in Ballard because we love Hot Cakes and Hazlewood, but with all the perfect weather we’re having, I know everyone will want to come try out my new outdoor chaise lounges,” said Rawley while carefully arranging a new set of throw pillows.

Despite Rawley’s enthusiasm, her friends aren’t exactly sold on the idea of dealing with crossing the lake on I-90.

“It’s just really out of the way for most of us,” said Hailey Barnes, Rawley’s sort-of friend from college. “I still don’t even know where Newcastle is — is it that one place Harold and Kumar go to? Sounds complicated.”

Meanwhile, Rawley remains excited at the prospect of having a little get-together in her neck of the woods. Sources claim a shipment of Crate and Barrel boxes has been delivered to her door carrying wine glasses and hors d’oeuvres trays.

“Can’t wait to use these,” said Rawley. “Hailey and the girls told me they’re definitely going to make it out here sometime soon.”
