A Pioneer Square woman’s Sunday plans to enjoy a relaxing brunch at London Plane with a friend visiting from Paris were dashed by repeated accusations that she was publicly dining in pajamas.

“Leggings and an oversized sweater are minimalist, body-positive loungewear, not pajamas,” said the accused, Rekha Thomas. “That boutique over there even has this outfit window displayed!”

Thomas’ friend, who she met through a 2006 French immersion program, wasn’t having it, though.

“That is what I wear in the house when my boyfriend is away,” giggled Amelie Piaf.

When her friend left for her flight back home later that afternoon, she texted Thomas that someone stole her designer purse on the way to the airport.

“Who’s laughing now?” said Thomas as she swung an artisan, hand-crafted, burlap purse over her shoulder. “Who’s laughing now?”
