In an impassioned and excessive display of environmentalism, local restaurant chain, Ivar’s, released 50,000 pounds of fried prawns into the Puget Sound for Earth Day.
Studies have shown that, similar to humans, the Earth itself also enjoys bold flavors, so Ivar’s decided to return to the Earth prawns once removed from her briny depths, reimagined with their signature seasoning blends.
“We gave our beautiful ocean a mix of Cajun-Style, Coconut Crusted, and Spicy Sriracha fried prawns,” said Ivar’s spokesperson, Gabe McAdams. “We wanted to spoil the Earth a little bit on her special day.”
Dozens cheered the move from the Seattle waterfront.
“They took what the Earth made, made it better by frying it, and then generously gave it back,” said onlooker Stephanie Johansen. “It’s a wonderful display of our symbiotic relationship with Earth and her salty seas.”
At the time of publication, a cement truck full of tartar sauce was reportedly backing down Pier 54 after the Earth requested some dippin’ sauce.
