The surprise hit of this year’s Washington State Fair, adventurous patrons are skipping carnival rides to wait in line for beer-battered, butter-slathered, deep-fried Omicron boosters from Coronafryus.
“Our customers’ vax cards are literally running out of room. They’re going crazy for our golden-brown, boiling-hot boosters,” said Sandra Cress, owner of the bustling new booth. “Food brings people together, and nothing proves that better than the popularity of the Twice-Fried Pfizer and Melty Mozzarella & Moderna. It makes all those long days behind the fryer, covered in flour and mRNA, worth it.”
Crowds waiting hours for the crispy antigens agreed the hip new food trend isn’t just mouth-watering – it’s bridging the ideological gap.
“You know, I did a lot of online research. I thought the vax was a deep-state conspiracy to magnetize me,” said Puyallup resident Jon Gought, in line for his third dose. “But then I saw Coronafryus on TikTok. I thought, ‘Hell, I gotta try this.’ Spoiler: it’s crazy delicious. What’s the worst that can happen? I’m just injecting cheese-covered microchips into my body. Nothing Guy Fieri wouldn’t do.”
Cress said the booth has been such a hit this year that by next year she plans to return to the State Fair with an expanded menu with new delicacies including double-stuffed, triple-fried, bacon-wrapped Polio vaccines.
