The museum to end all museums, today the Seattle’s Museum of Museums acquired a new museum to add to the museum’s permanent collection of museum museums.
“Whether it’s a museum within a museum because it’s really just a giant warehouse that houses precious traveling exhibits like ice cream museums or whatever the fuck that Van Gogh thing was, we’re proud to be the only museum on the planet with a collection of museum museums,” said MoM Lead Curator Tucker Upshaw. “Someday we hope we’ll even be able to acquire colonist museums of stolen museums.”
MoM’s newest acquisition: LA’s Broad Art Museum with Yayoi Kusama’s blockbuster museum of immersive art sculptures and installations.
“How did we acquire one of the world’s best modern art exhibits trapped inside of the world’s best modern art museums? Simple: plaster casts,” Upshaw said with a clever grin. “Same thing paleontologists do with dinosaur bones. Except we shrink them and paint them bright, edgy colors so it really pops for the ‘gram. Ends up looking kind of like one of those Christmas villages your mom puts out around the holidays, only it costs as much as a three-million-dollar NFT.”
At press time, most Seattle residents reported that they were overjoyed to hear the news, mostly just to finally know what’s in there now.
