While the city awaits the results of the Recall Sawant special election, Mayor Jenny Durkan unexpectedly took back the spotlight today by teasing a public record to be released after she’s officially left office on Jan. 6.

“This album is flash banger after flash banger, and I’m not deleting shit this time,” said Durkan, forcibly grabbing the mic. “Y’all wanted bike lanes but you can’t even handle these bars.”

Although she released no sample of the public record to come, it’s widely assumed it will have something to do with all the missing communications during Black Lives Matter protests from the summer 2020 that her staff refused to share with lawyers and journalists investigating her office.

She did, however, release a track list:

  1. Sad About This (RIP) ft. Carmen Best
  2. Poppin Rainbow-colored Tear Gas Bottles
  3. Irish Immigration is the Same as the Trans-Atlantic African Slave Trade (Live from the steps of City Hall, June 2020)
  4. Capitol Hill Auto (no mas) Zone ft. Adrian Diaz
  5. The ACL-Who?
  6. Total Recall / No Consequences
  7. Lesbidishonest (Unknown Technology Issue)
  8. All of the Gaslights (feat. Mike Solan)

One local KOMO reporter noted off the record that they were amazed Mayor Durkan was ever planning to release any public records at all after refusing to for so long.

“Wow … I have to say, this—this—is the moment she finally became a real mayor.”
