Following its temporary closure due to a pandemic of famous chefs like Edouardo Jordan sexually harassing and exploiting women on staff, today local award-winning restaurant Junebaby released a delicious new walkout menu for people who no longer want to work, eat or enable there in-person.

“Personally, my favorite walkout menu item is the banh mi-po’boy at Chef Kristi Brown’s Communion in Central District,” said Lisa Nichols, who quit and literally walked out en-masse with almost the entire Junebaby restaurant staff last week. “The catfish and the pate in that thing? Heaven! And somehow she makes all this delicious food without sexually harassing anyone — so hard! Very few chefs in their male-dominated field seem to believe it can even be done. I’m sure Chef Jordan thought he needed to do that to at least 15 women to get those fried pig ears just right.”

For more traditional soul-food, another walk-out menu favorite is from the mother-daughter team at Simply Soulful in Madison Valley.

“Their buttermilk and cornbread waffles cannot be beat,” said Junebaby walkout menu diner Patty Ewing. “And that extra touch of not being made by a dude who’s only sorry for years of inexcusable behavior after The Seattle Times publishes a giant, carefully reported expose by Jackie Varriano and Asia Fields? I love it.”

Another exciting option coming to the menu July 1 is anything made by Canlis’ first female executive chef, Aisha Ibrahim.

“I don’t even know what’s she’s planning on serving yet – just surprise me!” said former dine-in Junebaby customer Ryan Burke. “I mean, with the dish – not with the sudden realization that I’ve been supporting a chef who doesn’t know how to make delicious food without being a traumatizing asshole to their staff.”

Diners said they were pleased Junebaby’s staff so quickly offered a walkout option and are hoping staff at Chef Blaine Wetzel’s Willows Inn on Lummi Island soon offers the same.
