Cheers and whoops erupted during this month’s virtual meeting of the Seattle Mullet Association as 5,000 new dues-paying members were inducted into the famed society.
“Whether you have been with us since the beginning when we were just a small group meeting at Thunderbird Tavern back in the 80s or you just recently signed up online, there is room for you here!” stated club president and founder Tommy-Ray Tuckerson.
The latest membership card was signed and delivered to 34-year-old Redfin SEO optimizer Blaze Kendall, who had dreamed of this moment since he was a child sitting on Biker Santa’s lap.
“This has been a personal dream for me for a long time. Due to my professional work life, I had to keep my hair short and tidy. But now the game has changed,” said Kendall. “It wasn’t easy, but after two months of sitting at home while avoiding the mirror and watching Wayne’s World, it’s time to show the world the new me!”
Wearing the official club uniform of an oversized sport jacket, blue jeans, and an Atlanta 96’ T-shirt, the new members saluted a photo of John Stamos and swore the sacred oath of business in the front and party in the back.
If you’re interested in joining, the Seattle Mullet Association is open to all. Its monthly magazine, the Mulletin Board, features fashion advice, guest columns from the likes of Rod Stewart and Jerry Seinfeld, and interviewing tips to score that perfect girl’s field hockey coaching job. Its most recent social event back in February offered professional LinkedIn side headshots, raffle tickets to the Daytona 500, and a free class at the Lynnwood Beauty Academy.
