South Lake Union – Local real estate reporter Winston Samuels has copied and pasted the same article about rising rent for the 18th straight month with a piece that yet again landed on The Seattle Times’ Sunday front page.
“I change maybe a number or two after the copy-and-paste, and then it’s ready to go,” said Samuels.
He discovered what he could do with the piece when he accidentally republished an old article last year and no one noticed.
“Nothing has really changed,” he said from his micro-apartment while eating a block of cheese for dinner. “There are only so many ways to describe it and my editor won’t let me say ‘Just read up on what happened to San Francisco, bitches. It’s happening.’”
Much like the rise of real estate prices, Samuel shows no sign of slowing down on his copy-and-paste masterpieces.
“I will continue running this article unless the Seattle housing market goes downhill and, even if that happens, I’ll take my rent article template to the next boomtown. Watch ya back, Reno!”
