Sightseers under the Aurora Bridge were met with disappointment today after learning that the Fremont Troll has moved from Seattle to Tukwila.

“Frankly, this has been a long time coming,” the Troll said. “Rent kept getting higher and higher and it got harder to make a living by just sitting there and having kids climb all over you.”

The Troll’s move to Tukwila hasn’t been easy. His initial stay in the Applebee’s parking lot ended after only a few days.

“Couples kept arguing in front of me and leaving leftovers on my arms,” he said. “I had to decide if the lower cost of living was really worth the half-empty take-out boxes all over my body. I guess it is another way to cut down on living expenses, though.”

One vandal reportedly removed the Troll’s iconic hubcap eye and replaced it with half a shoelace. The Troll is currently looking for a quieter spot in Tukwila that reminds him of better times.

The Fremont space the Troll used to lounge won’t stay vacant for long, local developers say. Sources indicate that the local tech company Tableau plans to use the space for a dog-friendly outdoor work area. The company insists the space will be just as Instagrammable as it was before, but with better dog visualization.
