To the delight of the local community, Hewey, the newest baby penguin at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo, has learned to vape.

“It was just another normal day at the zoo when a group of teenagers leaning over the penguin enclosure dropped their vape pen into the a group of penguins below,” said zookeeper Daniel Lowerson. “Most of the penguins dispersed, but Hewey was transfixed and immediately took to mimicking the kids by placing the vape pen in his little beak.”

At first, Woodland Park Zoo management was skeptical about the baby penguin’s new habit. But as an increasing number of zoo-goers flocked to see how cute the vaping baby penguin was, they warmed up to the idea.

“He does all sorts of tricks now,” said Sheila Adamson, zoo director. “He watches all those YouTube videos where they can blow the smoke into all sorts of rings and shapes, and he’s gotten really good at it!”

Vaping companies have even reached out to sponsor baby Hewey, and help him to create his own line of Halibut scented vape cartridges.

Hewey the baby penguin now has his own YouTube channel where he performs his own unique vaping tricks including blowing his vape smoke the shape of a heart, a twisting spiral, and even letters that spell out the words “H-E-L-P M-E!” Zoo onlookers oohed and aawed as Hewey performed another of his 18 hour live vaping sessions to the music of Deep Purple’s “Smoke On The Water.”
